Searching the Research Register
The research register contains references, abstracts and some full
papers from research on foot and mouth disease. It concentrates on
research conducted in the Southeast Asian region, but includes important
papers from around the world. You can examine the contents of the register
by either browsing or searching.
To browse through all the research references in the database, just click
on the Browse button. To see more references, click on the page number
you want to move to.
You can search for a particular reference using keywords, author or year
of publication, or a combination of all three.
Keyword Search
To the right of the keyword text box, there is a list of all keywords used
in the database, listed in alphabetical order. To select a keyword, scroll
through the list, and double click on the keyword you want. To add more
keywords, repeat this. The words chosen will be added to the keyword text
box, separated by commas.
Alternatively, you can type your own keywords in the box, however, they
may not match the keywords used in the research references.
Author Search
To search by author, type the surname of one of the authors in the Author text
box. Searching works more reliably if you omit the author's initials, however
you can try searching with them if too many results are obtained.
Year Search
To search by publication year, enter the year with 4 digits (eg 1993 or 2001)
in the Year text box.
Combined Search
Any combination of keyword, author and year is possible to search for a
particular paper.
Viewing Results
To view the details of a reference, click on the name. The full citation
and abstract will be displayed. If the full text article is available,
there will be a link to download the article. For more help on downloading
see the general help page.
